Automobiles in German City Discovered Marked with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Police State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Authorities stated they were alerted by a individual who noticed a car in Hanau covered with reddish fluid

Roughly fifty automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to police.

Cars, walls and postboxes were marked, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they reported in a release.

Officers report they were alerted late on Wednesday, when a individual observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish fluid.

The substance had been drawn in the form of a swastika, they stated.

Police then discovered multiple other marked automobiles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations prohibiting the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police report initial examinations indicate the substance was likely human blood.

"At present there remains no lead as to where it came from; officials are not yet informed of any injuries in relation with the occurrence," they added.

Local authorities said they were trying "to unravel the mystery" and have requested to the residents for information.

A senior official said the vandalism made him stunned and required to be addressed quickly.

"This act hits the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist violent incident half a decade ago," he posted on social media, mentioning the murder of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on residents of foreign heritage in February 2020.
