I'll dominate 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.

Former twice world boxing king Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will damage his features and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making huge earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Size Disparity

As both boxers engaged in the customary face-off, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is actually happening.
