Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.
A number of civilians were hurt while inhabitants in the city's east were plunged into darkness and encountered problems to water supplies, according to municipal leaders.
Simultaneously, a young boy was fatally injured in a different assault in the southeastern region in the southeastern part, according to local officials.
Russian forces has intensified assaults on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while officials has called for "concrete actions" from partner nations to apply pressure on Moscow.
"What's needed is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the US, the EU and the major economies - in providing defensive weapons and enforcing sanctions," he wrote in a social media post.
He said that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 rockets struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.
The energy minister said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were working to restore power.
A wave of strikes struck power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.
Multiple people injured in the strikes on the capital have been hospitalized, according to municipal representatives.
Regional authorities said the metropolitan region came under significant strikes throughout the evening. A young boy lost their life and three other people were wounded.
The assaults follow nights of bombing campaigns in the region, parts of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.
The whole nation is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to identify.
Government officials told journalists that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the national power system, with attacks already disrupting fuel infrastructure.
He said utility staff and authorities were bracing for additional strikes.
